Born and raised in Canada to Hungarian immigrants (her father a symphony conductor, her mother an opera singer), she trained at HB Studio in New York, as well as with many other influential acting teachers, and worked in New York for ten years, performing on stage in over a hundred plays, as well as in film and television.
She was invited to do a feature, ‘Goldberg Variations’ in Hungary which garnered her a Best Supporting Actress award. This led to multiple lead role offers in Hungary in film and television, winning her more awards and accolades, including Hungary’s Film and Television Critics award for The Actress and the Death. After six years, she headed to Los Angeles where she has worked on numerous television series, in feature films and in theater for the past twenty five years.
She is well known for her roles on ‘Arrow’, ‘Fear The Walking Dead: Flight 462’, ’24’, ‘Alphas’, ‘Being Mary Jane’ and for her eleven years (and 522 episodes) on ABC Television’s very popular series, General Hospital, as Swiss-German, Liesl Obrecht, garnering her a large social media fan base. Film roles include Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, Trade, Igby Goes Down, ZigZag, Meet The Fockers, Little Birds, Sunshine, The Future, Lifeline (winner of five Best Actress Awards) and many more. She won the Best Actress Award for her lead role in feature, ‘Retrace’ at the Los Angeles International Film Festival. She has done multiple series regular and recurring roles on television, plus dozens of Guest roles on NCIS: LA, NCIS, Fairly Legal, Leverage, Covert Affairs, The Mentalist, Weeds, Desperate Housewives, Cold Case, The League, Lie To Me and many more.
In addition to her native language, American English, she is also fluent in RP British, Hungarian, Spanish, French, Russian, and has a working knowledge of German and Italian. Kathleen is proficient with multiple accents, and many of her roles have included most Eastern European accents, American Southern and New York, Irish, German and French.
Kathleen is also an accomplished voice actor. Her work includes over 80 audiobooks (for which she has won nine Audiofile Earphone Awards), voiceover work, ADR, looping, voice replacement, animation and video games.
She has USA, Canadian and Hungarian (EU) passports, and is located in Los Angeles, Phoenix (Arizona) and Budapest.
