Janne Heltberg is a Norwegian actress educated from The Lee Strasberg Institute New York in 2005 and The National Academy of Dramatic Arts Norway in 2010. Her professional theater debut was in “Romeo and Juliet” at Trøndelag Theater in 2010. Her film debut was the female lead in the Crystal Globe winning film “The Almost Man” (2012) and in tv the female lead in the TV2-series “Samurai Sikkerhet” (2013). She later landed the role as Anita Rygg in the TV2-series “Occupied” (2015), which became the lead character in season 2 (2017).
In 2015 her own new established film collective “The Sporadic Filmcollective” debuted with the short film “Oslo’s rose” and won the Terje Vigen award at Grimstad International Short Film Festival. Janne was the female lead, co writer and producer. The film was nominated for Best Short film at Toronto Film Festival later same year. The collective has had enormous success since with new short films every year attending different national and international festivals and channels. Janne is often both acting, writing and producing the films.
The last two years she has combined tv with being the artistic leader and actress at one of the four stages at the National Theatre in Norway. Amongst different leading roles she did Julia in Orwell’s “1984”, “Helena” in Karel Capek’s “R.U.R.” and Pagona in Anja Hilling’s “Nostalgie 2175”.
